New Barnet, lONDON
The Project here in Barnet required a formal makeover providing symmetrical balance throughout the garden including a new lawn square from the house with borders either side to accommodate formal contemporary planting. The rear of the garden fence has a tight pinch from the angle of the garden border creating an unpractical space becoming unpleasant to look at, therefore new paint for a clean look and four pleached screens of hornbeam were installed to create a hidden storage area that was not visible from the house. These also became a frame for a new gravelled based lined with clay pavers for a focal area. New turf and planting borders separated by clay block pavers to give a neat edge and a clean cut when the lawn is being mowed. Towards the house as you exit the backdoor a courtyard area has been given a new lease of life with newly painted fence panels, planted containers and metal grid wiring systems to allow for scented climbers such as jasmine and along the fence a purple wisteria to give excellent contrast against the fence.
