Keston Kent
This space was undulated and uneven making it limited in its use with borders that we overgrown and lost in structure. The clients wanted to improve the space for their daughters hen do but to also get back in control of the garden so they could enjoy it for many years to come. A corner spot had been identified as having the evening sun and currently was not being utilised. We provided a garden design service with 3D visuals and planting plan to meet the client’s needs.
The result was a gravel grid patio area retained with aluminium edging for a crisp clean finish, replacing the broken fence but with greater height to give privacy. Planting of pleached trees so that the ground beneath could be planted and provide the enclosure of the seating area with colour, texture, seasonal interest and scent.
Extensive landscaping was needed for the lawn area to make two clear lawn surfaces with a curved gentle slope. Steps to the summer house were installed with a lawn ramp for moving the BBQ out during the summer. Manicuring of existing shrubs such as the magnolia, meant that the branches provide structure and interest whereas before they have been hidden. The result is an open and more sunny space, easier to manage and maintain with two useable lawn spaces, security and privacy and a family seating area to capture the evening sun.
